CASE STUDY: BlueCross BlueShield of Minnesota
Claims Migration Program
The Client

BlueCross BlueShield of Minnesota (BCBSMN), one of the state’s premier healthcare organizations.

The Challenge

BCBSMN embarked upon on a very large, cross-organizational, mission critical, highly visible, Claims Migration program to replace their 40 year old legacy claims system with two separate outsourced vendor systems. This program involved significant changes in technology, business process, and organizational culture. It required the utilization of a large number of industry-experienced, senior-level, contract PM and BSA consultants with a combination of strong technical expertise, strong specific healthcare knowledge, excellent facilitation skills, and intangible soft skills to be successful. The ramp-up time was very short, and BCBSMN was looking for a way to keep costs low, while quickly finding and onboarding a large number of quality consulting resources to come in and establish rapport with the business and produce results quickly.

The Solution

LogiSolve proposed and won the contract to provide a risk-sharing single-source resource solution for the large group of Sr. Business Systems Analysts. We appointed an experienced engagement manager to perform an extensive and customized screening process to ensure the resources selected were the best fit for the positions. Our engagement manager also assisted with ongoing delivery quality by providing mentorship where needed, and established continuity within the team by sponsoring monthly team meetings, and regular one-on-one and small group meetings. We proposed a creative volume discount pricing structure which helped keep the rates well below their established rate cards.

During the ramp-up period, we placed over 25 consultants within a 2 month timeframe with ongoing additions as the project continued.

The Results

The unique combination of high-quality resources at a reduced rate within a short timeframe was noticed at the highest levels of the organization. The client was very pleased with how the process worked, the time savings it produced, and the quality of the resources placed. The client also acknowledged the more intangible benefits it received from LogiSolve throughout the process such as engagement management and overall attentive customer service.

BCBSMN was so pleased with the successes of the program with LogiSolve that it awarded LogiSolve with a contract to deepen our partnership by providing the single sourcing solution enterprise wide.
