Job Title: Interface Developer
Duties: The Integration Developer is responsible for the design, development, documentation, testing, and maintenance of integration messaging that support mission critical clinical and business processes for existing and new software applications. Works effectively with the team and be accountable to the team. Participates in architecture design, performance monitoring, and product evaluations.  Tracks and communicates development project status, dependencies, and risks to the project team and leadership. Provides technical expertise on assigned applications.

  • 5-7 years of IT application experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of HL7 standards and message structure, enterprise level interface integration platforms leveraging Rhapsody, Cloverleaf (or other integration platform) and expertise in building general event-based real-time interfaces.
  • Configure and support interfaces in an Epic environment and background utilizing Bridges, HL7, XML, X12, JavaScript, Python and Web Services (APIs) to integrate multiple systems.
  • Builds, Maintains, Monitors and Troubleshoots Interfaces within Epic
  • Works with application team, end users, and external partners to determine business needs, document requirements, and configure interfaces per requirements.
  • Identifies and corrects any interface issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Develops and executes system wide test plans and analyzes the results
  • Document Interface workflow and technical details
  • Meets with team members, Epic technical service representative, and external partners on a regular basis
  • Extensive working knowledge of HL7 Standards; Ability to design, implement and test interfaces
  • Ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines; Excellent communication skills (verbal and written); Good organizational skills
  • Demonstrated analytical critical thinking skills for process development or problem resolution.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge and expertise of healthcare processes and application system coordination.
  • Experience developing and supporting interfaces in an Epic environment and background utilizing healthcare EDI standards to integrate multiple systems. The ability to understand all phases of integration projects through Discovery, Estimation, Design, Analysis, Development, Testing and Implementation.
  • Respond to end-user questions, problems and requests.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ability to translate customer's high-level requirements into technical specifications for the IT organization and manage changes to such specifications.
