We are seeking a Senior Investment Accountant for a 6 -month consulting opportunity with our direct Healthcare client. This person will help support critical year-end close activities. This person will also be part of a
high-impact team with significant visibility to our CFO.
Hybrid, 2 days per week in Eagan, MN
Pay rate: $54.84/hr. W2

Your Responsibilities
- Resource for GAAP and STAT accounting standards and procedures.
- Prepares and/or reviews monthly entries to the general ledger, including accruals.
- Prepares and/or reviews quarterly and annual financial statements and footnotes
- Prepares and/or reviews quarterly and annual Statutory filings and footnotes including Interrogatories .
- Reconciles various general ledger accounts monthly
- Responsible for coordinating payments for external invoices
- Reviews monthly files/reports from accounting vendor for accuracy and completeness
- Communicates investment accounting matters to internal and external clients, regulatory entities (internal and external auditors), as well as the investment staff.
- Collaborates with other departments for quarterly and annual deliverables in accordance with their reporting requirements.
- Prepares monthly and quarterly reports for management and internal investment committee meetings
- Coordinates and completes special projects as needed and performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience
- 5+ years of related professional experience. All relevant experience including work, education, transferable skills, and military experience will be considered.
- Must be self-motivated, enthusiastic, detail oriented, and possess an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience with GAAP and STAT accounting principles
- Highly collaborative. Must have a strong team orientation and the ability to influence decision making within our team structure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills.
- Strong communication skills: ability to effectively communicate to all levels of seniority and with cross-functional teams
- Exceptional writing skills and ability to persuade and influence
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Experience with accounting systems and investment platforms
- High school diploma (or equivalency) and legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Previous experience in investment accounting
- SAP experience
