Tech Education Partnership: Logisolve & The Park Place

By Ron Kimlinger | Partner and Business Transformation Lead

We at Logisolve have been fortunate enough to partner with several non-profit groups to grow education in technology with initiates like;

  • Corporate sponsorships with several non-profits to help in financing technology education platforms.
  • Participating in fund raising efforts (like our annual backpack drive) that help non-profits gain funds to grow technology/STEM education
  • Volunteer time in teaching/mentoring/helping non-profits that are focused on the under served in our communities.
  • High school scholarships for students going on to Computer Science degrees.

One such non-profit is the The Park Place (TPP) in Minneapolis. TPP grew from one of other non-profit partners The Flourish (formerly known as Ace in the City). The Park Place (https://www.theparkplace-mn.org/)  is located in Minneapolis and is run by Rebekah Simpson who has a background in curating and developing programs informed by community members.

The Park Place exists to close the opportunity gap for Latine youth, families, and community members in Minneapolis through equitable access to leadership, education, advocacy, and preservation. TPP offers Education programs in STEM and technology (along with other curriculum) in after school program in the for underserved communities. The STEM/technology programs are mainly taught be volunteers who either have been part of the program in the past or have a background in the STEM/technology field with a purpose to give to the communities.

Earlier in March, Bekah invited Logisolve to join her and her team at one of their after school STEM/technology sessions. The pictures below give a small glimpse at the focus and enjoyment the students had with the opportunity to learn more.

Volunteering Opportunities in 2024

There’s dedicated workspace on-site, which can be used before or after either shift. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the Minneapolis community. If you’d like to learn more or want to sign up for a shift, please reach out to Ben Hoffman at bhoffman@logisolve.com. Your interest and consideration are greatly appreciated!
