Trusted to Deliver

Happy Thursday!

In this edition of The Solve, Katie Pierce, Logisolve’s Director of HR, shares why in-person connection still matters.
Even in a digital world, face-to-face interactions remain essential. From boosting employee engagement to building customer trust, in-person events create meaningful connections that virtual tools often can’t match.

Why In-Person Events
Still Matter in a
Digital-First Workplace

Written by Katie Pierce

Engagement is critical—not only for employees but also for customers. In today’s increasingly digital workplace, the
value of face-to-face interaction is more important than ever.

In-person events like team retreats, client appreciation days,
and conferences provide a powerful platform to elevate both employee and customer engagement in ways that virtual communication often can’t.

For employees, these events foster connection and collaboration. Being physically present with coworkers strengthens interpersonal relationships and creates a deeper sense of belonging. When employees feel seen and heard in a shared environment, they’re more likely to be invested in their work—leading to higher engagement, motivation, and retention. Events also offer teams the opportunity to align on goals and celebrate wins. Whether it’s a strategic planning session or a casual team lunch, the human element of interaction reminds employees they’re part of something bigger.

From the customer perspective, in-person experiences create memorable touchpoints that lead to stronger connections. Whether through an interactive meeting or appreciation event, customers gain the opportunity to connect with your team on a human level. These face-to-face interactions build trust, foster authentic relationships, and provide valuable insight into customer needs and feedback—key elements that directly impact long-term engagement and satisfaction.

In our remote or hybrid workplaces, in-person events shouldn’t disappear—they should evolve. Thoughtfully planned gatherings that focus on connection, collaboration and authenticity can be a key driver in energizing employees and solidifying customer relationships.
