Happy Friday! In this week’s edition of The Solve, Dave Lillquist, Director of Application Engineering, shares how Logisolve’s Development Center provides flexible, scalable software development support—combining local expertise with the expanded capabilities of V-Soft Consulting Group. Take a look at how the Development Center helps clients tackle changing technology needs, from custom development and support to added project capacity.
Logisolve’s Development Center – Web, Mobile, Cloud, And General Application Development With Leadership Provided By Top SMEs
by Dave Lillquist
A decade ago, software outsourcing was viewed primarily as an attractive option for enterprises looking to reduce operational costs, particularly for organizations whose primary focus was not IT. Today, as demand for skilled technology resources continues to grow, outsourced and offshore software development has become an important part of many companies’ overall resource strategy.
Once a customer recognizes the benefits of a variable technology resource model, the next step is finding the right mix of local, offshore, hybrid, and/or FTE resources to meet their needs. Logisolve’s Development Center provides a flexible way to outsource development and support work locally, at a significantly lower cost than traditional 40-hour-per-week consulting resources.
In short, Logisolve’s Development Center offers a hybrid, local model that combines the cost advantages of offshore development with the accessibility, accountability, and confidence of trusted local resources. When additional capacity or specialized expertise is needed, our Development Center also has the flexibility to leverage resources from our offshore team.
Our Development Center was established in the fourth quarter of 2020 and quickly grew to support multiple software development and support engagements across a range of clients. That success has continued into 2026, with the Development Center delivering development and support services across a growing portfolio of projects and client engagements over the past 5½ years.
What is the Logisolve Development Center?
The Development Center is a core team of resources with structured software development practices dedicated to providing development capacity both externally to Logisolve clients as well as internally to Logisolve.
Below are some key facts about the Development Center and our team:
- Currently consists of FTE core team members with the ability to scale up FTE’s based on workload. We are also able to add specific technology SME’s when necessary. With Logisolve’s deep pool of experienced consulting talent across the software development spectrum, we are able to provide the right mix of resources for the team at the appropriate times during a project.
- Uses a structured work intake process and development activities are managed through DevOps.
- Utilizes Agile development methods when appropriate and conducts daily standups with Development Center teams and client leadership when necessary.
- Made up of US-based resources managed by experienced technologists. Depending on the project and the client’s objectives, our project teams may also include client FTE resources and/or our own Offshore resources.
- Focused primarily on Web, Mobile, and Cloud solutions. The Development center can deploy solutions in both Azure and AWS development environments.
What type of work is done out of the Development Center?
The type of work varies, but the Development Center is structured to effectively take on the following type of work:
- Out-sourced custom development. This may involve development of a new
end-to-end solution or it might involve the development of new enhancement or module for an existing application. Logisolve has the ability to not only provide development services, but we can also provide the project managers, scrum masters, business analysts, and quality assurance analysts needed to support
the team. A majority of our work is either out-sourced custom development or variable work as described below. - Variable work / Flex Capacity. Development work that ebbs and flows over the course of the year or the ability to flex capacity across multiple project teams. This type of work is ideal for the Development Center and allows our clients to stay focused on their key initiatives while we handle the overflow work.
- Long term support and maintenance – contract or by the hour. We can provide support and maintenance services for an existing client application or for an application built by our Development Center. Support and maintenance contracts can be a flat monthly fee or by the hour. We are currently providing support and maintenance services under both monthly fee and hourly agreements.
- Capacity Boost. Basically, this is the ability to provide a development capacity boost to a team at a critical point in a project. Recently, the Development Center team provided 750 hours of development capacity over a 4-week period to help a client get a project over the finish line.
How does the Development Center fit within V-Soft Consulting Group’s offshore capabilities?
Since V-Soft Consulting Group’s acquisition of Logisolve in March 2026, we’ve had the opportunity to integrate the Development Center concept with V-Soft’s extensive offshore capabilities. V-Soft operates using offshore, onshore, and hybrid models to deliver flexible solutions tailored to each client’s needs. Depending on the specific engagement, we can now position the Development Center as a nearshore option within a hybrid offshore model.
We are in the early stages of launching our first local project that combines Development Center resources, local subject matter experts (SMEs), and offshore V-Soft developers. We look forward to building on this model’s success in future engagements.
Logisolve is extremely excited to continue providing cutting edge capabilities to our customers. For more information on our Development Center, please reach out to me at dave.lillquist@logisolve.com or contact your Logisolve Account Representative.
What a fantastic day at our 5th annual Summerfest event!
Despite the heat and smoky skies, the energy was incredible as we brought together consultants, clients, and friends for an afternoon of connection, conversation, and celebration. A special thank you to our guests from V-Soft in Louisville—Purna Veer, Tammy Simonetti, Abhi Joshi, Sheila Willis, and Dominic Ross—for making the trip to Minnesota to celebrate with us. Hosted at Surly Brewing Co., the afternoon featured great food, networking, plenty of laughs, and live music from the Dirty Birds, featuring Logisolve alum Kelly Wendlandt. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this year’s Summerfest such a memorable event—we’re already looking forward to next year!
